カレッジ オブザ レッドウッドCRW からThe Krenov School へ 他学移管 The change of CRFW 2017

Dear CRFW grad,
Nothing constant but change.
As a graduate of the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking Program, you are now a member of an exclusive group to which no new members will be added! As many of you know, as of July 1st the Program was transferred to the administrative auspices of Mendocino College. The intention is that the program remains the same: same building, same course, same instructors, same philosophy and ethos, but with a new name, The Krenov School. The name reflects the foundation of the program in the teachings and writings of Krenov, using them as the building blocks to craftsmanship and to finding one’s voice through the medium of wood.
This seems an opportune moment to mention an allied organization, The Krenov Foundation. It is a relatively new non-profit dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of James Krenov, and, as you can imagine, has many overlaps with the School. Its chief areas of activity are awarding scholarships, supporting shows of fine woodworking, and creating an online archive of JK’s (and his student’s) work.
We all know what a big commitment of resources students put into their time in Fort Bragg and the Foundation has made a commitment to awarding generous scholarships to first and second year students at the Krenov School. These scholarships, and all the activities of the Foundation, rely on donations.
